Dear parents,
We are excited to inform you that CHI’s English program is being completely restructured and that each student is being assigned to a course level that corresponds to his knowledge of the language! This will include the areas of vocabulary, grammar, and phonics. Below are the levels that will be available for the 2015 school year.
  • Level 1 — Includes textbook and video lessons. The lessons include basic vocabulary, phonics, and spelling.
  • Level 2 — Includes textbook and lessons in audiovisual format. The lessons include basic vocabulary, phonics, and basic grammar.
  • Level 3 — Includes textbook and lessons in audiovisual format. The lessons include basic vocabulary, phonics, and basic grammar.
  • Level 4 — Includes a textbook and audio lessons. The lessons include grammar, stories, and spelling.
  • Level 5 — Includes a textbook and audio lessons. The lessons include grammar, stories, and spelling.
  • Level 6 — Includes a textbook and audio lessons. The lessons include grammar, stories, and spelling.

  • History of the World (Level 8) — For this level, CHI will give the student a textbook to be used during the school year. At the end of the school year, the book must be returned in the same condition as it was received. This level has no audio.
  • Reading — Some students will be given reading assignments in English. A reading schedule will be provided and the student must submit brief summaries of the assigned books each trimester, for each unit.

Assessment

Each student must take a written, monthly assessment at home (which will be graded by the parents or tutors) and a written trimestral assessment at a CHI facility on the same date as the assessment of the other subjects.

From Level 2 onward, computer games will be included for the development and mastery of vocabulary. CHI offers personalized assistance for parents and students, to clarify questions related to the program. To contact us for help, email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
