Falling in Love with Jesus

Pastor Marvin Byers

In Matthew 22:36-38, the Bible tells us that the first and great commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind. However, do we really love the Lord; or do we only fear Him?

The Scriptures also teach us that in these last days, (in which we have been chosen to live), the love of many will grow cold. In Revelation 2, God tells the church in Ephesus, which was part of His Church, that she has left her first love. He also tells His church to remember from where she has fallen, to repent, and to do whatever is necessary to return to that first love.

In this Seminar, we want to examine the steps that we need to take in order to fall in love with Jesus so that we may be able to return to that first love—the love of His presence and communion.

The Heart of Christianity

Pastor Jorge Preciado

In John 14:23–24 Jesus said, “If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”

Obedience is an indispensable requirement in our Christian walk. This appears to be ignored by a great part of God’s people, despite its vital importance. The enemy’s strategy is to deceive us so that we disobey God in the details that are apparently not important; this was his purpose in the Garden of Eden, and continues to be his purpose today. Loving God is obeying Him in all things, for partial obedience is truly disobedience. He who says he loves God but does not obey Him, truly does not love Him.

The Sure Anchor

Pastor Hugo Quiñonez

The generation that the Lord will use to establish the kingdom of God in this world will need to cling to that which upheld men like Jacob, Joseph, Job, and David. They were ordinary men who, because they had a sure anchor, rather than causing them a shipwreck, their tribulations led them to the supreme goal in God.

The sure anchor is one of the elements that Christians of this generation must treasure in our spiritual arsenal to be able to overcome amid purifying storms in a way that pleases the Lord and thus becoming channels of everlasting righteousness, peace and joy.

Contentment and Gratitude

Pastor Julio Socop

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” 1 Timothy 6:6–8

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Philippians 4:11–12

In the Old Testament we see that Israel did not enter the Promised Land for lack of gratitude and contentment, and in the New Testament, the Lord Jesus narrates the parable of the Prodigal Son, a young man who, having a good family, money, servants, and all that was necessary to be happy, launched himself into the world and came to the lowest state for lack of contentment and gratitude.

In the same way, if we do not have this attitude of contentment and gratitude, we can be disqualified and lose our inheritance.

Registration

The entire family is welcome to attend evening services. Admission is free.

November 10–12

The Cross

Pastor Marvin Byers

Currently, many believe that the message of the cross is only part of the gospel, and that we can take it in order to grow and be more blessed. But this is a lie. In reality, the cross of Christ is the gospel of Christ and is not a simple additive to lead better lives, but rather is the only source of life in any genuine Christian walk.

Our calling is to follow Jesus to the cross, and to pass through the desert, in which the flesh will die completely and only the new generation, Christ, will remain. Only those who are willing to surrender their lives to gain Christ through the cross, will have the Lord’s pleasure. For this reason, we want to set aside some time to study some keys to pass through sufferings with the correct attitude and understand the final purpose of the way to the cross: the life of Christ manifested in our lives.
