1. ABQ Memorization Award (2017)
2. 2nd Place Master Memorization Award (2017)
3. 1st Place Master Memorization Award (2017)
The first and foremost purpose of Bible Quiz is that participants come to know the Lord. Therefore, it is our desire that at the end of every meet, each quizzer would have the conviction that he is taking home a priceless award which is far greater than any other: knowing the Word of Life in a new way—the One who upholds all things by the Word of His power. Any additional award should take second place.
The second purpose of Bible Quiz is to WIN. The desire to win is a fundamental attitude that God wants to find in every Christian believer. First Corinthians 9:24 says, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
The third purpose of Bible Quiz is to give everyone the valuable opportunity to learn both how to win and how to lose. Does our attitude please the Lord when we win? What about when we lose? In Phillipians 4:12, the apostle Paul tells us: “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed … both to abound and to suffer need.” God wants us to know not only how to “abound” (win), but also how to “suffer need” (lose). Are we "suffering need" (a loss) with the right attitude? First Corinthians 12:26, reminds us that we are to rejoice with our brother when he is honored. When faced with a “loss,” are we truly rejoicing with our brother, the one whom God has chosen to honor with a win? If we cannot answer “yes,” then Bible Quiz is the perfect opportunity to learn this God-given lesson.
Regardless of whether or not physical trophies have come our way during the quiz season, we can be certain of having reached our Bible Quiz goal if we can say, at the end of the season, that we quizzed “to obtain the prize,” quizzed “heartily as unto the Lord,” learned to reflect Christ-like attitudes with our wins and losses, and have come to understand the Lord Jesus Christ in a greater way. As mentioned above, each quizzer should have the conviction that he is taking home the most priceless award of all: coming to know the Word of Life in a new way, the One who upholds all things by the Word of His power.
With these things in mind, we would like to introduce the Bible Quiz awards, which have been designed to encourage as many as possible to memorize God’s Word.
There are two ways to achieve awards. The first is through participating in an official Bible Quiz competition. Throughout the Bible Quiz year, not only are top teams and quizzers awarded and recognized for their hard work, but also, at both the League and National Final, every quizzer who does not place is awarded and recognized for his effort.
Below, you will find a list of awards that are given in official competition:
- Medals are given to the quizzers on the winning teams.
- Medals are given to the top quizzers.
- Achievement pins are awarded for Quiz-outs.
- Trophies are given to winning teams.
- Trophies are given to top quizzers.
- At the League Final, Best Attitude Certificates are given.
- Participation medals are given to the quizzers from teams who did not place.
- At the National Final, a monetary award is given to top teams and quizzers.
- Achievement pins are awarded for Quiz-outs.
The second way in which awards can be ahieved is by completing the requirements for one of the Memorization Awards.
The Memorization Awards, listed below, can be achieved by anyone involved in the Bible Quiz program such as: Bible Quiz coordinators, officials, coaches, and quizzers.
Local churches are also encouraged to host their own Awards Ceremony at the end of each Bible Quiz year to award those who have achieved the Memorization Award. Hebron Ministries is willing to help any local church that would not be able to hold its own Awards Ceremony without financial assistance. Please contact your National Bible Quiz coordinator if this is your case.
Participants who achieve the 2nd Place or 1st Place Master Memorization Award will be given their trophy at the National Final Awards ceremony. Local churches are encouraged to contribute to the cost of this trophy.
Below you will find a list of each Memorization Award together with its corresponding prize:
